Now more than 35 years later, ROCO showcases Oregon winemaking at its peak—through a talent that has produced hundreds of 90+ scores from leading industry critics, repeated placement in Wine Spectator’s Top 100 Wines of the World, and multiple bottlings served in the White House.”
Intrepid originals, always looking ahead. In 1987, the same year Rollin Soles began to develop the prestigious Argyle Winery, he also purchased a unique hillside property in the Chehalem Mountain Range, which became the base of ROCO’s first release. With over 35 years of experience, Rollin and his wife Corby Stonebraker-Soles have built wineries, developed foundational industry organizations, and worked to establish Oregon as the premier place to make Pinot Noir and Chardonnay outside of Europe.
The Vineyard
The fruit is sourced from premier vineyards within the Willamette Valley. Each single-vineyard designate clearly highlights the vineyard AVA and vintage variation. ROCO begins by working with grape farmers whose sustainable viticulture practices promote the lively ecosystems at the foundation of these vibrant wines. The work of winemaking happens in the cellar, but we cannot begin our work until we’ve benefited from the excellent work of others.
