Wine must be the perfect copy of its Terroir
Serralunga d’Alba is one of the 11 villages in the Barolo area, considered a pillar of the appellation for the excellent quality of its vineyards and the inimitable style of its Nebbiolo, at times solid and austere and, at times, surprisingly refined and expressive. For over a century, the Rosso family has been working in its own vineyards in Serralunga d’Alba:a story of love, knowledge, and great carelinked to important plots located in the cru Vignarionda, Serra, Broglio, Lirano, and Damiano in the southern area of the village, and Cerretta, Meriame, Sorano and Costabella in the northern part. In the early eighties, Giovanni Rosso, along with his wife Ester Canale, restructured most of the vineyards with a planting designed to produce only high-quality grapes. In 2001, at the age of twenty-seven, his son Davide, a winemaker with important local and international experiences, decided to personally take care of the winemaking and élévage with the belief that:“the wine must be the perfect copy of its terroir.”The terroir is the magic land of Serralunga d’Alba, one of the best in the Barolo area and the world.
